Symena’s core competence is the development of algorithms to improve the operation of the air interface of cellular radio networks.  Where to put base stations, which equipment to use and how to adjust it under a variety of traffic conditions and other scenarios are the questions we answer.  Our knowledge and experience are delivered through our high performance software.

Symena’s products are used around the world by leading operators, equipment manufacturers and service providers.  Our most significant customers include Alcatel-Lucent, Bouygues Telecom, mobilkom austria group, TDF and Vodafone group.

Symena is a 2002 spin-off from the Mobile Communications Group of the Vienna University of Technology, Austria using work started in the mid-1990s.  The Mobile Communications Group is a world-renowned centre of excellence in the study of mobile communications.

In April 2012, Symena was acquired by AIRCOM International, an independent provider of network management tools and services.
AIRCOM is market leader in the provision and deployment of network engineering tools.
